Welcome to Jefferson County
Emergency Services District No. 3

An Emergency Services District (ESD) is a local government agency created by a vote of the public to provide fire protection and/or emergency medical services (EMS) in specific areas in unincorporated Jefferson County. There are more than 310 ESDs in Texas, 4 of which are in Jefferson County. The governing statute for an ESD is Chapter 775 of the Texas Health and Safety Code. An ESD collects taxes based on appraisals of real and personal property.

The Board of Commissioners for Jefferson County Emergency Service District No. 3 (JCESD 3) would like to thank all the residents who came out and attended our Open House event on October 21. It was an excellent opportunity to get to know your first responders, neighbors, ask questions related to the District, and understand the Sales and Use Tax Election proposition on the ballot for November 7, 2023.

The event was a means to raise community awareness and familiarity with the needs of the District and meet the first responders who serve the residents of the District. The JCESD 3 Board of Commissioners cares about its residents and always seeks ways to engage with community members.

If you were unable to attend the event, you can access the sales and use tax election informational

boards along with all of the curated election information on the District website linked below.
